Hello everyone,
For anyone who is new to Revenge OS, my name is Josiah Ward, and I am a high school student in the united states. I would like to resolve any confusion as far as what's happening. Revenge OS is no longer being maintained, that was Jody's project and I do not have the technical know-how to pick it up and frankly do not have the time to work on it. What is still being maintained and what I am able to work on is: The Zen Installer, hosted at: https://gitlab.com/spookykidmm/zen_installer https://gitlab.com/spookykidmm/zen_installer-iso https://sourceforge.net/projects/revenge-installer/ spooky_aur package repo, hosted at: https://gitlab.com/spookykidmm/spooky_aur revenge_repo package repo, hosted at: https://sourceforge.net/projects/revenge-repo/ https://gitlab.com/spookykidmm/revenge_repo You'll notice that there's quite a few gitlab links and that's due to the fact that I migrated all github projects to gitlab, as a result of this news: https://news.microsoft.com/2018/06/04/microsoft-to-acquire-github-for-7-5-billion/ There's many more repos than the ones listed above but all repositories got flagged as private upon importing, so I will have to resolve that. I update the revenge_repo and spooky_aur almost daily and I want to update the zen installer but I have no idea what's going on with it or how you guys feel about it. Another limiting factor is the fact that I only have one computer in my household running Linux and that's a laptop with a SEVERELY degraded battery. If you guys want to help me out with getting a new one or donate to other goals of mine, such as: getting a new website getting a computer dedicated to building isos and packages(or a cloud server that does the same) upgrading our forum or anything else donations can be made at https://www.paypal.me/revengeos or https://www.patreon.com/revengeos If you guys have any questions or want to help, I deeply encourage you to contact me via Telegram: https://t.me/Spookykidmm Email: spookykidmm @ protonmail.com gmail.com outlook.com Facebook: @obrevengeos in messenger https://www.facebook.com/obrevengeos/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/OBRevengeOS The Forum: https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/obrevenge/ Google+: https://plus.google.com/communities/115644675078865877931 The current website: http://revengeos.weebly.com/ I encourage any contact but I need any issues reported to be clear and pertaining to the "products" mentioned above Thank you all, Josiah Ward

Here's all of the links related to your experience with revenge products: Zen Installer() { Zen Installer Wallpapers: goo.gl/CVRC8B Zen Installer: goo.gl/SkNFJ3 Zen Installer github: goo.gl/wbKi1Z Zen Installer iso github: goo.gl/49VaJq } RevengeOS() { Revenge OS iso github: goo.gl/Uqns83 Nemesis(revenge os installer) github: goo.gl/Nw7UG8 Revenge OS tools git: goo.gl/DLGprM Revenge OS iso: goo.gl/VWq9GV Huh, guess I need to contact some people about getting the torrent back up } Donations() { Patreon: goo.gl/iG5gdD Paypal: goo.gl/Z48is4 } The Revenge Installer, the project's vanilla arch installer, has now been renamed to the Zen Installer. This includes a new wallpaper, a new iso, and a new maintainer.
So why "Zen?" I actually came up with the name "Zen" as a joke, referencing the fact that we used Zenity to create all the dialogs that take you through your perfect arch installation. However, I believe the name Zen is also fitting because you can sit back and relax as your system installs. No worrying about the wrong disk being formatted or too many packages being installed. You just sit back and be "Zen" about it That being said, the Zen Installer iso is still hosted at http://ow.ly/231j30e4wmt Soon, I will upload some of the wallpapers that Karl made for the project so you can show off your love for being Zen to the same page All zen installer source code is located at https://github.com/spookykidmm?tab=repositories and will be fully maintained by me. You can open issues on the corresponding pages to report issues or just put things you wish would be there All the changes in this release: You can now see all the partitions available on your disk You can now choose window managers in addition to the ones in the desktop dialog Most of the question dialogs are now the same height the grub dialog was a little bit messed up, but I fixed it the lolang and fflang operations now fetch the corresponding packages from pacman instead of a text file I produced The open pacman.conf option in the iso should now work perfectly Thank you for using Zen! ~ Josiah It's been a long time coming, but it's finally ready. OBRevenge, Mate Revenge, and KRevenge are all now just Revenge OS! In addition to these three desktop choices, you can now choose to install Gnome3, XFCE, or the i3 Window Manager as your desktop.
This release features the new, online installer "Nemesis". The Nemesis Installer will guide you through the installation and provide a choice between 6 desktop options. Revenge OS still has the tools that you've come to expect, such as the Welcome Screen, Nvidia driver tool, virtualbox driver tool, kernel tool, and Grub configuration tool. Revenge OS features new artwork by Karl Schneider, and a new custom logo created by Karl and Thomas Schneider! The entire build process was revamped for this release, so the improvements are too numerous to mention here. Try it out and see for yourself! -Jody Today the revenge installer ISO 2017.07 was released. The only real change is the fact that the wallpaper now works as it should!
Revenge Installer 0.84 brings many changes: Advanced keyboard setup Kodi in media option Ability to install firefox and libreoffice as well as the language packs needed for everything to run properly in the apps Simplification of some of the dialogs Another update for you guys. I know that I've been a little quiet lately, but work has been progressing.
First, the entire project, from the very build process and infrastructure itself to the default theming is being evaluated and updated. Some packaging options are changing, and new options and features are on the way. I've learned a lot in the past year, and I'm going to use some of that knowledge to improve the project from it's foundation up. Goals: Imagine being able to choose from about 6 different desktop environments. Selecting an iso with your chosen desktop environment, and being able to install that system offline using the Calamares installer. But, if you decided to try a different desktop environment, being able to boot the same iso, use an online installer, and install the system with any of the 6 desktops. Both install options being available on each iso. More consistent theming, from the default theme to the icon theme. Support for additional desktop environments. More consistent packaging between different desktop environments. A much more robust build process and infrastructure to allow for producing the assorted iso's from one single build repo. Improved installation option (Long-term) Updated internal hardware and build server (I'm saving up $) Timeline: I refuse to rush the current process and I'm determined to make the next release the best one yet. As such, it will be released when it's ready. However, I would not expect new releases until near the beginning of July. Finally, I welcome suggestions and feedback as always. This is a distribution created by a community member for the community, and as such you guys are all important to the project! Also, anyone who like to help with the project, please contact me. As things roll along, I'm sure that Karl, Josiah, and I could all use some help. And, those of you who have read this far are probably pretty interested in the project, so I'd like to hear what you think and love for you to contribute any ideas. Thanks, Jody Just pushed updates to the software install tool (all three variations) that will now show you which applications are installed already. A recent update also fixed the problem with some icons not showing up. Enjoy.
Changelog:
-Updated to newest Calamares -Fixed bug with hotkeys when changing desktop settings -Bluetooth support -Updated software install tool -Added more support for multimedia keyboard keys -Added GUI screenshot tool -Added more touchscreen drivers -Linux kernel 4.10.13-1 -Updated compositing configuration for better hardware support -Removed compiz (still available in the repo) Hey everyone, just a heads up, I just updated the obr-tools and mtr-tools packages. The update is to the kernel tool specifically. You can now select to install a "previously installed kernel" and you will be given a list of kernels that you have had previously on the system. The kernels are kept in the pacman cache. This will allow you to easily downgrade to a previous kernel version if you need/want to. Hopefully it's helpful. I just pushed the update, it should be version 1.23-1
